The Blue Jays are also not experiencing a disastrous season. They’re above .500, which means they’ve won more than they’ve lost.

I love that the umpires are just standing on the pitching mound watching the whole mess unfold.

You know what they were thinking: “We like being umpires but hey, we’re umpiring in the North American Baseball League. We have basically no chance of ever climbing the umpiring ladder to reach the major leagues so who cares if it looks like we don’t have control of the situation. We don’t get paid nearly enough to get involved with breaking up a fight.”

Battery charges the guy that got punched in the face and is pressing charges is the one who charged the guy at 3rd base. No way that will hold up in court. Hes just as responsible for getting hit as the guy who hit him was. Im sorry but if you come running at me your getting hit. The guy in the red probably felt the same way. He didnt know what the guy was going to do so he reacted. If u dont wanna get hit then dont run up in another mans face.

Agree. Phillips threw a great right cross and decked him. You can see the size disparity in the 2 guys, too. The big dude runs into the scene from the left: clearly not intending to give the little dude in red a hug. Little dude drops him with a strait right to the face. Big dude is down on a knee and the little dude backs his first shot with another to the face then the laundry pile ensues as the little guy’s teammates arrive to save his victim’s fat a$$. Takes like 4 or 6 guys to drag the little guy off. Marshall, the big guy, needs exactly 1 dude to hold him back because he’s not intent on getting his a$$ beat some more.

Tony Phillips can still swing with the big boys.

I was thinking the same thing. If the manager runs onto the field, and punches the base runner, I can understand if the runner wants to press charges. But to run after a guy and press charges when he punches you is just being a jackass who wants to inconvenience the other guy because he’s embarrassed and wants to retaliate.

I guess after Marshall left the majors he found a pulse. He slept and jaked through what might have been a really good career.

In their playing days, Phillips was 5’9″, 155 lbs; Marshall was at 6’5″, 215 lbs. I would take Phillips in that match every time.
