I’ll remind everybody that A) the Giants insist they didn’t throw at Victorino, so why are we to believe them here, and B) this was the quote a few months back “We’ll have a long memory. Believe me, we’ve talked to (Mike) Matheny about how this game works. You can’t be that out-and-out overly aggressive. I’ll put it as politically as I can state it: There’s no love lost and there shouldn’t be.”

We will not know what the Giants have in mind until after this series, period. I don’t know what will happen, but a quote from Bruce Bochy means nothing. We will have to wait and see

I was going through Phillies withdraw yesterday. Sure, there was an Eagles preseason game to watch. But, really, who wants to watch a game where you see a bunch of scrubs out there for 3+ quarters? Anyway, I’m glad they are playing tonight again and we get a chance to see Hamels win his 14th game tonight. Run production for Cole Carlton, Phillies. Give this kid a shot at winning 20 games for the first time in his career. This is the guy that won us a ring.

You are right…threatening then following up would garner a suspension. Now, they can just hit somebody and claim it was an accident and suffer no significance consequences. After all, since no warnings were issued it is fair play.

I was thinking the same thing as dr, but I also agree with bleedgreen…it’s not like the Giants are going to come out and say “Yeah, it’s payback time!!!” They will simply do what those weasels do…hit someone on purpose for a good CLEAN play at the plate. And then when the guy who gets hit moves toward the mound, it will be his fault for “starting everything” when he should have just took his intentional lumps and went to first base. And then Whiteside can again jump up and down waiting to tackle someone from the Marlins. I bet he has been running 5 miles a day and hitting the speedbag for an hour a day to get ready for this series.

Since we’re due for yet another night of monsoon conditions here in Macondo, it’s highly unlikely that there are going to be any fireworks. Mud wrestling, maybe. No fireworks. And the way the Feesh have been mailing it in for the past week, it’s likely the Brobdingnagians will enjoy humiliating them even more by putting up lots of crooked numbers, deliberately loading the bases with walks and infield rollers that stall in the muck en route up the baseline and then laughing their asses off as the Feeshs’ fearsome patchwork lineup of Mendoza Boys delivers their now-traditional strikeout, a popup and a strikeout than by dotting their touchases and setting off counterproductive wet wimpfests in the middle of the infield. I mean, imagine having to face a middle of the lineup consisting of Kindly Uncle West, DeWayne Wise and Mike Cameron with the bases loaded! All that veteran leadership is enough to give any peetcher an endorphin rush!

As long as the Marlins don’t retaliate to Giants pitching throwing a 95 mph fastball at them intentionally, they should be fine.

At this point, payback would hurt them more than the Marlins; the fish are out of contention. Any shady playing on the Giants part risks suspensions they can ill afford at this time being 1 game behind Arizona and playing the Braves early next week.

So, having your star catchers ankle taken out on a questionable play is not worthy of retribution but stealing with a 6 run lead in the top of the 6th inning is?
