Maybe, but I wouldn't give up on him yet at 3B -- he's shown the same odd combination of inconsistency and brilliance as Castro has at SS for the Cubs. A lot will depend on who else they have in the system and where, but messing around with young position players is a dangerous gambit. Whatever they do will have to be in the context of a greater plan for the years ahead. That said, if you're looking to teach 1B to a kid, D-Lee's a pretty good guy to have around as mentor, though he may not be there very long.

For now, though, Jones is better at 1B than RF, and Diaz deserves ABs. The Bucs' recent collapse has been all about pitching and little else. With the exception of Karstens and J-Mac, the vulnerabilities of that staff have just been plainly exposed, and the exhausting Atl-Philly road trip sapped the pen. I remember watching Correia and Maholm back in May thinking, "big league hitters should be rocking these guys, WTF is going on here?"

Bottom line for mgt. is: you've sold a lot of tickets this year, it's time to give back a little and so something this off-season. I know, Prince and Albert can't be in your radar, but Huntington will have to consider himself a shopper otherwise this winter.
