Said it above in response to your last myopic post and I’ll repeat it here: two rings under totally different circumstances. Success isn’t like a chronic infection that follows you wherever you go. You can keep repeating “two rings” like some mindless mantra but it still won’t apply to the current situation. Or haven’t you noticed that the last ring was eight freaking years ago???

That was then, under or benefiting by having been under different regimes. In 1997 the team was owned by Wayne Huizinga, and in 2003 Scrooge McLoria has just taken over the team and inherited a terrific farm system stocked by Dave Dombrowski. Larry Beinfest proved adept at supplementing this Dombrowski talent stockpile with a few missing pieces and you got the surprise 2003 championship team. But he hasn’t been nearly was astute as Dombrowski was in restocking the team, and he’s been hamstrung by Scrooge McLoria’s tightwad payroll policies. Forget the two rings. That isn’t going to happen again under this regime – not unless they have a massive change of outlook. But I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for that.

Said it before and I’ll state it again, they have two rings already plus a ton of young talent so you can’t say ‘things keep going wrong here.’ Uh, no, two years they got it right so I wouldn’t say things keep going wrong. Does not mean what they did was right and this year they’ve surely taken a step back but two rings? Come on already, please.

I doubt that theory, two rings already in what, less than 20 years, stupid statement. That plus they have a lot of talent so they won’t be last much.

Sorry, that’s ridiculous. Fredi got fired because he didn’t win – and because in tactical terms he happens to be a lousy manager. John Mallee got fired because the team as a group wasn’t hitting and the front orifice needed a scapegoat. Hanley isn’t Reggie Jackson and Fredi wasn’t Billy Martin. You need to follow Feesh internal politics more closely and get a broader view of the dysfunctional corporate/team culture here in Macondo before looking for easy (and inaccurate) explanations for why things keep going wrong here.

To paraphrase Woodrow Wilson’s famous comment to H. L. Mencken about the difference between Washington and Princeton, the reason that the backbiting and scapegoating on the Feesh can get so vicious is that the stakes are so small.

This is why the Marlins will never be considers threats in the NL East: management and ownership just doesn’t get it. Only thing they’ll contend for is last place in the NL East.

it makes no sense to send LoMo down now. He just started to play alot better. If they were sending him down for performance they would have done it a week and half ago not now. I dont want to hear its all about performance bc if it was Gaby Sanchez would be the one getting sent down not Lomo. Hes been horrible the last few weeks and has been out played by Morrison as of late.
