Shane Victorino‘s three-game suspension from the Phillies-Giants scuffle on August 6 has been reduced to two games after the center fielder appealed to MLB.

He’ll begin serving the reduced suspension tonight against the Diamondbacks and will also sit out tomorrow night’s game against the Nationals.

Victorino was the only player who received a suspension, with MLB issuing a statement about his “aggressive actions that prolonged the bench-clearing incident between the clubs.”

Eli Whiteside, Placido Polanco, and Ramon Ramirez were each disciplined with fines.

    Thank you, Mr. Madson

    That’s all, folks.

In there is the game and the series. This is what the Phillies do folks. After an improbable loss they come back and just shut you down. They just grind out series victory after series victory. Big difference between this team and teams of years past. Previous years they were just streaky…ran hot, ran cold. This year it has just been a steady accumulation of domination.

It also squared the season series at three games each.

By the way, is anybody else tired of this Safe and Secure/New York Life and AT&T Call to the Bullpen crap?

YES! I am really annoyed by that crap. The amount of product intrusion in sports is ridiculous. Next thing you know each inning will be “Brought to you by (Insert Brand Name Here)”

Who cares, the more advertising the Phillies do the more money they make the more money they make the more money they have to spend on players the more money they spend on players the better the team gets.

What would annoy me is if they stopped advertising bc fans didnt like it and had to cut the teams salary by a 3rd.

I care because I have to listen to Sarge- can he lose his voice permanently please- pimp out every double and triple. I could live with the call to the bullpen, as it does not happen often, but the “Safe and Secure” crap just gets annoying. Now, I know that they will not stop just because it annoys some fans. It just makes me feel better by complaining about it on a random blog. I also highly doubt that they bring in that much money that stopping would cause a $57,658,793.67 cut in payroll

Yes! It’s sophomoric and completely assinine.

Is there actually some butt-brain at either company who really believes that such annoyances to us fans really brings more business to them? No doubt it drives more people away from those 2 companies.

Perhaps the guy who invented mute buttons for TV remotes should someday have his own special place in the HOF.

That doesn’t annoy me nearly as much as the commercials between the last out and the post-game show, but yeah it is stupid.
