It may not. But somehow, they’re still in the hunt for the division. They took the season series from Boston, and have quietly won against a lot of teams that no one expected them to. With over 40 games left and only 2:5 games behind, you can’t count them out at all.

The Indians started the season well, but could not sustain the early form. They can’t hit well enough to contend. A lineup that features players named Fuk udome and LaP orta does not scare anyone.

“Going nowhere?” They’re a game and a half out of first! They have an at least reasonable chance to make the post season. Can’t count them out yet.

It looks as if he went on the DL due to a bad hamstring. I still think that they were pushing him too hard to return from the strained oblique.

A wise move. Sure the Indians could use his bat, but realistically they are going nowhere this season and it is best to be careful with Kipnis.
