I do not have the stats in front of me; however, once the Jays get into extra innings they have a winning record. Both Francisco and Rauch have blown too many save opportunities and are unlikely to be back next year. They both project as type 2 free agents and as such would bring a sandwich round pick if they sign elsewhere. Janssen could be the closer next year. Another possibility is McGowan who after several seasons of not playing due to a series of injuries is pitching quite well in a rehab stint.

PC, one big reason they are 4th is ALL the blown saves. The Jays have a serious problem holding - nee CLINGING - to a lead in the 9th Inning and beyond. 26 for 46? Ouch!!!!

Surprisingly, I actually agree with Harry for a change. As Harry might remember, a few years ago, on another site he taunted me with the phrase "HaHa Janssen has gone on the DL". It was a serious injury. We both agree that Janssen is the better pitcher.

He had the good sense to realize that something was wrong and told the bullpen coach. He did not try to tough things out on the mound and potentially blow the game. The Jay's broadcast did show pictures of Francisco with his head in his hands. He was obviously upset. Fortunately, Janssen was able to pitch a third hitless inning. Once Janssen took the mound in the 9th, the Jays did have 2 other pitchers start to warm up. Fortunately they were not necessary.
