None of the Pirates except Hanrahan (who richly deserved it) were voted or put on the team first. The others got in because someone else didn’t go. That said, I was watching Correia and Maholm back in May thinking, “big league hitters should be hammering these two…”
And now they are, or have been.

Mickey-D’s, Karstens, and Morton are viable big-league starters, no doubt about that. J-Mac needs to work on his endurance and ability to get through the order the 2nd and 3rd time; the other two are exceptional starters for the middle of a staff. But the Pirates probably won’t have an ace-quality pitcher until that kid from UCLA matures in 2-3 yrs.
