Just seems like Sports League offices are attempting to control every aspect of a players personal life, and I don’t really see the need. As long as they’re behaving and not tarnishing the name of the sport or the League itself (though, I’d argue that some heads of leagues do that themselves), what’s the harm?

A-Rod knows what’s legal, and what isn’t. If he effs up and crosses a line, definitely punitive action is deserved…I just don’t see how playing Poker amounts to that, though, to be fair, maybe there’s more to it than we’re hearing…but, it certainly doesn’t seem like it.

There’s plenty to nitpick about A-rod, but I could care less if he’s playing poker, sure if drugs are involved, that’s no good (if he’s using them…which doesn’t appear to be the case here). It’s freekin cards, for crying out loud. What next? League-wide ban on Cribbage playing?
