The Astros are willing to trade Rodriguez, they just don't want to give him away.

The Rockies will have to pay a price. Only they know how much they are willing to give to add a solid mid-level rotation piece. To get Houston interested and also receptive to eating some salary, the Rockies need to add at least one plus-prospect. It doesn't have to be their best prospect but definitely one of their better ones.

Will Colorado do such a thing? They might.

Reports say catcher Wilin Rosario is a name that the Astros want. He's strikeout prone, doesn't hit for average but has big power, is young and has potential defensively too. He is, however, a high risk-high reward player.

Colorado and Houston both have to decide how to proceed.

The Rockies might counter with a little-lesser quality and add quantity to entice the Astros.
