Dewayne Wise on his way to Toronto

The Blue Jays and Dewayne Wise just can’t quit one another.  The Jays claimed Wise off waivers from the Marlins today, which means Wise is heading to the Jays organization for the third time. He played with them from 2000-02 and then spent 52 games with them last season. He was also in their minor league organization this year, playing for Dunedin and Las Vegas before bopping over to Florida for a spell.

Getting Wise is likely a precursor to putting Colby Rasmus on the DL due to his bum wrist.

Wise was released earlier this season so that he might find a team that would give him a chance to play in the major leagues. With Rasmus, Sinder and Davis hurt, the Jays need someone to play CF.

He’s just glad he doesn’t have to play baseball in that one run down, sad excuse for a city that really good baseball team plays for.

Rasmus has officially gone on the DL and Farrell will not manage tonight due to his illness.

A slight correction. Rasmus will be placed on the Dl tomorrow. I guess that Wise will not arrive until tomorrow. Perhaps Rasmus could still pinch run tonight if necessary.

The Feesh will miss his .178 bat and his…are we ready?… veteran leadership.
