Alex Rodriguez gets MRI exam on left thumb injury, “really questionable” for Red Sox series

Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter are both out of the Yankees’ lineup for tonight’s series finale against the Orioles, but while Jeter might be available off the bench manager Joe Girardi deemed Rodriguez “really questionable” to play in the three-game series versus the Red Sox that begins tomorrow.

Rodriguez left the team in Baltimore and headed back to New York to undergo an MRI exam on his injured thumb. Results were negative and he’s officially listed as day-to-day.

Without the two Hall of Fame infielders in the lineup the Yankees are starting Eduardo Nunez at shortstop and Eric Chavez at third base.

Tonight’s series opener against the Red Sox? He’s left Boston? The Yankees are playing in Baltimore tonight, and the Red Sox are off!

Aaron, series starts tomorrow, not tonight.

I’m guessing Aaron edited the article cuz… I don’t see the errors! :)

What a nancy….hard to keep those thumbs in tip top shape when you’re not on the juice.

What the heck is wrong with his thumb? Is it on his throwing hand?
