I don’t know about Harper but Trout will have a great career. You can bet on that one. He’s already doing great in the majors.

I once lasted in bed for 3 hours–but, that doesn’t mean my whole “career” has been stellar. All I’m saying is that these guys are prospects and it’s all a gamble. There is no telling what will become of Harper or Trout for sure, so all you can do is base your picks on the skill set you see currently and the near future.

It doesn’t take a genius to know that hype, which derives from “hyperbole,” is ALWAYS overblown–that’s the definition. Anyways, saying that other prospects are going to surpass these two is taking the safe bet–like picking the field against Phil Mickelson in a golf tournament. Oh, and the sample size from your boy in Langly is 81 ABs in the Bigs.

The hype is overblown. Far too many top draft picks and highly rated prospects flounder in the majors. There are other prospects out there who will probably outshine them once their skils and body’s mature. Furthermore, neither of these 19 and 20 year old guys is likely to have as good a career as a 21 year old third baseman from Langly BC who is currently in the majors.
