I can't argue with the Lee for Pods trade. While I'm not sure how it worked but Pods did help the 2005 club. Lee may have helped more but that besides the point as I was alive when the White Sox won the Commissioner's Trophy.

Also you forgot David Wells trade where Kenny got a different player then he thought because of similar names. Some classic blunders are Todd Richie, Billy Koch, Royce Clayton, picking Rios off of waiver dump. Honestly, I would be happy to see them both go this off season.

Ozzie spews Espanglish, a language with no formal rules but one that in his blatant idiocy he still manages to mangle. Let's face it, those of us who were not born speaking Spanish learned it at the feet of the Cid poet, Cervantes, Lorca, Garcia Marquez and (if you were a 60s kid), Neruda. If you lived in Macondo, you burnished it with street level Cuban Spanish when being cursed out by drivers from an unnamed large island a hundred miles to the south who wanted the nine feet of road space you currently occupied for not much other reason than that you currently occupied it, or if you were lucky, from Maribel the waitress down at your local Cafe Cubano when she was trying to figure out exactly which kind of empanada you wanted when all you were trying to do was get her to lean closer to you to try to understand your own broken Spanish because you were trying to stare down her cleavage. But nothing the idiot driver trying to cut you off or the sultry Latina at the cafe ever said to you approached in sheer unmitigated incoherence and imbecility any one of Slobbering Ozzie's pronouncements, and you rarely if ever had to endure even the dumbest thing they ever said once, and then again as quoted in the Macondo Feeshwrapper, and then again replayed endless times by local spawrts tawrk raydeeo hosts. There would be no relief. No relief. No relief. Aggggghhhhh.

Williams certainly has a checkered transactions history. The two deals you mentioned, buying high and selling low on Nick Swisher, not getting nearly enough for Javy Vazquez, acquiring Juan Pierre and even paying part of his contract, Carlos Lee for Scotty Pods, bringing Scotty Pods back again, overpaying on Linebrink, and overpaying for a busted Peavy. On the other hand, he made out like a bandit in a couple deals, including grabbing Vazquez and Quentin from Arizona in separate deals, gettin Gavin Floyd for Freddy Garcia, and nabbing Alexei Ramirez out of Cuba. In addition, Magglio and Thome leaving town were more on Ozzie than Kenny, and in the latter case probably led to the overpay of Dunn. Further, Ozzie's insistence on the no-power, no-patience, fast runner/bad percentage stealer slappy hitter who feels like he should play good defense whether he does or not has helped shape the roster construction quite a bit. If I was a Sox fan, I'd rather roll the dice on Kenny's ups and downs than deal with Guillen having his hold over the team, just so long as I could keep Don Cooper around.

But to counter the trend, you might brush up on your French to counteract all the classic Espanol that said Ozzie spews and his son tweets.

It's not derision Gator, its love, man. Just the kind of love that comes with a lot of grinning, insults and pointing out how awful you have it in comparison to the rest of us. Your pain is our amusement but we still feel sorry for you. Look on the bright side: you won't have writer's block all next season with the plethora of material Ozzie will supply you with. Also can you imagine the how he'll treat Loria? You'll warm up to him, the way man warmed up to mouldy bread. It may look off and smell but it just might be the tonic you need to cure what ails ya, I bet.

No, I've been bracing for this all summer. Got my chia seeds, got my acai, got my black market Cardizem from Canada.

I can only hope that Ozzie runs into the same shit storm that consumed Bobby Valentine, who purportedly is another "strong willed guy" whose strong will ran afoul of the very insecure Chihuahua and the now much-compromised Larry Beinfest, whose stature as some kind of genius has taken a vicious hit this Cretaceous-Tertiary season. If an articulate if sane and dignified Bobby Valentine couldn't find common ground with this bunch, I gotta hope that Slobbering Ozzie won't either. On the negative side, the high profile the repetitive idiocies of El Papaya Boca achieved in Chicago - which has a pretty quotidian logic by which it operates - would be subsumed into the magico realismo of Macondo, the dystopia that gave us Elian Gonzalez, the Joe Carollo election, the Humberto Hernandez trail, the shrinking palm trees of Manuel Diaz, Your Daily Corruption Scandal, the most lopsided mayoral and comissionarial recall elections in American history, the Macondo Banana Massacre Field public funding hijack, and drivers from a large unnamed island a hundred or so miles to our south.

What's worse, a few more years of failure afield by the newly renamed Macondo Feesh would seem like nothing more than an extension of the fifty plus years of failure of the Cuban embargo and no one would notice.

Not that they notice now.

It will just mean I have to hunker down and figure out how to put up with the nonstop derision of the rest of you guys while Ozzie digs himself a sump and wallows in it and drags the Feesh to another wasted season.
