For your information it is a mid-payroll city that cares, just not as much as it does about the Ravens.

With Bundy in the fold they now have exactly 3 real prospects (Machado, Bundy, Schoop).

Anyone that thinks Cashman would leave the Yankees for the Orioles or most any other team should have a urine test asap. The man not only makes big money, but with the boss gone the sons actually count on Cashman, and Cashman has always been loyal to the Yankees.

The hidden gem in all this is that MacPhail is still being mentioned as the successor for MLB commissioner. If folks around the league think Selig is slow at making decisions, wait’ll Andy gets in there. That being said, he’d probably represent an improvement in the Commissioner’s seat.

On the surface it doesn’t appear to make a lot of sense for Cashman to leave, as you point out. However, if BC is exhausted of the lofty expectations he faces every year in NY, there’d certainly be less of that in Baltimore.

Not that Cashman needs any leverage for a big, fat contract extension, but this certainly doesn’t hurt his chances of getting one.
