You knw its sad as fans you degrade this guy cuz he struggles with pitching. Baseballs a mental game. Example A: Zack Greinke..... Anyways its prolly extremely hard to focus on the game when the one thing you love more than the game of baseball, your wife, is battling for her life. Battling breast cancer... Idk bout anyone on here but if the person you loved the most was dying you wouldnt be doing ur job 100percent the best..Hes a awesome pitcher, he knws he is lettin ppl down, n i guarentee that he hates letting fans down. Cut him a break

...because it is somehow fun to watch guys with double-digit batting averages come to the plate? I do enjoy the fact that there are some differences between the leagues, but if I never have to watch a pitcher bat with bases empty it will be too soon.

FICA. Fico is a dog's name.

But speaking of automatic deductions, here's a great idea: let's fine pitchers automatically for whenever they hit a batter, no matter the reason, accidental or not. Then, let's add surcharges for intentionality (if implied) and a graduated scale of penalties for injuring a player. That will have the effect of forcing pitchers to stay over the plate, drive up the offensive numbers that baseball fans who like lots of offense (ie, boring fans) love, and make that Neanderthal atrocity, the designated hitter, irrelevant. That way, the designatedhitterball league can go back to playing real baseball.
