Andrew McCutchen exited today’s game against the Cubs after being plunked on the left hand by a Ryan Dempster pitch.

The good news is that doctors examined the injury and found no fractures, so he’s been diagnosed with a bone bruise.

The bad news is that he’s all but ruled out for tomorrow’s game and may end up sitting Sunday as well.

McCutchen has started 132 of the Pirates’ 138 games in center field and Alex Presley shifted from left field to center field to replace him today.
