Clemens will stand trial again

Sep 2, 2011, 3:30 PM EDT

Roger Clemens

Updating this morning’s item, the judge in the Roger Clemens case has denied Clemens’ motion to have the case thrown out on double jeopardy grounds.  Not surprisingly, he accepted the prosecution’s argument that it did not intend to derail the case when it introduced evidence that had been previously barred from the trial.

New trial is set for next April.  let’s get ready to strap in and take this ride all over again.

This is bullshit. America is tired of this Clemens/Bonds stuff. There are more important issues to focus on. Both of them lied because they were proud. It happens. Don’t waste anymore taxpayers money with this, for the love of God!

I disagree. Let’s drag this thing through the mud for aeons, like the fossil trackway of a dinosaur’s ass, thagamizer and all. For the love of tedium!

Well, Ok. Think about the wasted money by the prosecution to try this again. As much as I despise both Clemens and Bonds with their cheating and such, I would just assume that the public opinion and never getting into the hall of fame is punishment enough. No more tax payer money for this crap.

How about this: let’s go ahead and waste a few million on the Clemens trial, but let ethanol subsidies expire and pay under a buck for a pound of tomatoes again.

It seems america is tired of the clemens stuff, Bonds, on the other hand people still like to hate him

    • nudeman - Sep 3, 2011 at 10:26 AM

      Disagree 1000%.

      1. Ya’ think if YOU went before Congress and lied under oath, they’d drop it because supposedly people are tired of it? Uh … no.
So why should Clemens be any different? He’s had a fucking LIFETIME of preferential treatment -expensive dinners being picked up, golf at America’s best private country clubs, women in every city, multi million dollar contracts.
      Fuck Clemens.

      2. Prosecute him. Convict him. Embarrass him. Jail him. Deserves the Full Monty

      3. If nothing else, deserves to go to jail for Felony Stupidity for hiring Rusty Hardin.

with OG on this,,, let it ride, on the scale of doo doo wasted, this is minor and way entertaining,,, more so than watching the Clem lose it anytime D Stewart shot an eyebrow his way
Honest, way small money tossed away for high entertainment value is good government money tossed away.
just sayin, there are much more hugely wasteful things going on that don’t amuse me

      • gogigantos - Sep 3, 2011 at 1:03 PM

I mean,,, like, keep him in the box and keep this rolling, let it ride!! Yes, it is money tossed, but man oh my Tea Party friends and lovers, the waste goes WAY beyond, toss a few more million at Clemons and enjoy the show, put that lying doping limp horse meat away for a good long spell
just take him back to trial and see what comes up this time around, it is actually cheap entertainment, considering all the other hugely wasteful things our govt does to not entertain us.

Rusty gets to run up his bill again.

Though I hate the idea of wasted tax money, I love the idea of poor ol’ Roger wasting his own money. And after his arrogant speeches and responses, he deserves round 2. This time, hopefully they nail his ass to the needle.

Detest the guy and his arrogant, lying face.
