Josh Beckett missed his last turn in the Red Sox’s rotation with a sprained ankle suffered on September 5, but manager Terry Francona announced this afternoon that he’s slated to start Thursday or Friday.

Beckett threw a bullpen session yesterday and reported no problems, but Alex Speier of WEEI.com reports that whether he returns Thursday or Friday “will be based on how he feels and which day he prefers.”

Presumably the Red Sox (and Beckett) will make that decision tomorrow, so for now they still have “TBA” listed for both days.

The Red Sox are panicking. They just brought up Trever Miller from Triple A. The Jays had to take him as part of the Rasmus trade but quickly realized that he is washed up and dumped him. J. D. Drew went on the 60 day DL in order to make room for Miller.

I think you’re unhinged. Do you sit at your computer all day, just waiting for the opportunity to spew out anti-Red Sox hysteria at a moment’s notice?

The Red Sox may be panicking, but at least they’re in contention.

Nope. I have another life, but I do not like the Dead Sox. Ortiz is not playing tonight due to a back problem. Have fun.
