For some reason, the Nats can't beat the Fish at Nats Park. But this was embarrassing. Especially after a game earlier this season when I saw the Nats shell Vazquez for 6 runs in the first.

Vazquez's is a nice story, but someone will overpay him this off-season. Just hope it isn't Mike Rizzo.

Oh yeah, Kindly Uncle Wes backstory. As our dedicated correspondents know, I have not been kind to Kindly Uncle Wes as an active player, insisting for two seasons now that the guy is washed up and ought to start thinking about making it back to show as a manager. He'd be a good one - good baseball head, very high VLQ™ and all.

It turns out now that there was more than coincidence to his simultaneous defenestration along with Tweeter's demotion to the Little Easy. Seems that Tweeter wanted to skip the infamous photo op with the season ticket holders to show his annoyance with the front orifice, and sought out the Feesh' player's association rep, who was none other than Kindly Uncle Wes, to find out if he was obligated to attend the P/R event. Kindly Uncle Wes said no, it's not obligatory. Later that evening, both had a bootheel imprint on their nates.

So it goes. The Chihuahua loves sending ballplayers into various states of exile, the way Rick Perry gets off on signing death warrants and the rest of us love sneaking into the bathroom with a copy of Playboy and a jar of Vaseline.

Let's fill in some details, DJ. Javy fanned seven and walked none. He worked quickly and he was as focused as an industrial laser. I wouldn't mind seeing the guy come back for a year - what with the defenestration of Mike Cameron, DeWayne Wise and Kindly Uncle Wes (backstory here, btw) the Feesh are really thin in the VLQ™ department - though no doubt Scrooge McLoria will send Larry Beinfest out to patrol the midden heaps of MLB this weenter along with the bears and coyotes in search of some more scrapheap and rule five pickups so that Beinfest can try to re-burnish his tarnished reputation for reclamation wizardry. Javy could provide Veteran Leadership as well as win the Feesh a few games while they tread water wait for the Feelies rotation to get old, slow and brokedown.

He should keep leaning toward retirement, this velocity increase won't last. Any team that offers him a multi-year contract is looking for trouble, does John Lacking and A.J. Burnout ring any bells.
