The thing is, the Feesh haven't had a real third baseman since Mike Lowell - and the front orifice is correct in doubting the readiness of Matt Dominguez, the "defensive wizard" who has been rising through the organizing for what seems like forever like a diamond in a future kimberlite pipe. There are a couple of problems: Dominguez doesn't hit very well, minor league pitching included. And though he has sure hands - I had a girlfriend like that once but never mind - he's not very fast. In fact, he needed extensive surgery at birth to remove a set of caterpillar treads from below each ankle, but they seem to have grown back in the meantime, like a lizard's tail. Ergo, his quickness to either side is kinda limited - if you hit something right at him he'll get it and throw accurately to second, first or home much unlike his recent predecessors. Hit it more than a step or two to his left and you gotta depend on Tweeter and his gimpy knee to go fetch it. It doesn't take much to be a defensive wizard at third for the Feesh when you consider what the last five years have been like.

And I am opposed in principle to bringing in anyone from the Cubs because they're probably infected with that prion-vectored neurological disease from Indonesia, Die Vloek van der Geitbok.

Of course, Frisaro also writes that “Ramirez would bring an established defensive presence”

Well of COURSE he would bring an established defensive presence. He's already established he can't defensively man the hot corner. That's certainty in baseball for you. At least the Marlins know what to expect.
