Eric Hinske is not helping

Sep 20, 2011, 5:44 PM EDT

As the Braves continue to gag their way out of the wild card race, there are constant stories from the clubhouse about how no one is stressed, it’s all light, and the mood remains good.  Maybe that’s true. It’s also possible that they’re just all laughing at Eric Hinske‘s new haircut, as captured by Mark Bowman of

Look guys, if you’re going to lose this thing, please try to do it with dignity, OK?

That haircut is awful. Why would someone want to do that to themselves? I don’t get it.

Ah so he’s still a bum, good to see things haven’t changed since his Blue Jays days

Yeah, clearly he’s a bum because of his haircut. Judging others for their hair, that’s class. But a mohawk? Bum.

I did not realize that Hinske was still in baseball. If the Braves need him on the roster, I am not surprised that they are slipping.

Most of the braves were sporting that haircut earlier this year as some type of bonding exercise. Dan uggla seemed to have one yesterday as well. I believe they were calling them brohawks. They do look bad but that is sort of the point, making them all look bad together and adding to team chemistry.

They already look bad in the field, might as well look bad in the clubhouse as well…

That hardly even qualifies as a haircut. The shit will fill out in like two days.

      It’s a nohawk.

Does the haircut look bad? Sure . . . but with the state of the Marlins’ home playing surface, it’s not even the ugliest thing in that picture.

Luckily he’ll be wearing a cap

Hinske must know what he’s doing. Isn’t he one of these journeyman types whose teams seem to have a knack at making the playoffs? I know there’s precious little causation there, but who are we to question the fates?
