I remember the Phillies having a ragtag crew of bearded smart-asses with nicknames like Nails and Wild Thing, they were hated on, too.

Plush has been a great team leader and his co-workers like him, and he gives some great post-game interviews, that’s why the Brewers fans like him.

29 years! I remember as a kid going to the 1982 ALCS, and that was a special team….Molitor, Yount, Cooper, Oglive, Thomas, Gumby, Sutton, Fingers, Haas, Caldwell, Ladd, and more….but this group, something about them is just great. Braun is a beast, and the play in the outfield to turn the DP was more impressive than the dinger. Can’t wait for the playoffs….Braves, Snakes, and especially the loaded Phils will be very tough, but ready to enjoy the Crew giving 110% and leaving it all out there on the field.

Congrats to the Brewers and their fans. Class acts, except for Bud Selig and Tony Plush. The fans have some strange connection to Morgan, but in general they are great, and recently treated this Phils fan pretty well, despite the fact the Phils handled them 3 out of 4. Now, take care of the Braves for us and it should be a heck of a series in the NLCS (if we don’t choke against the Snakes).

Easily the smallest market in baseball by whichever standard you want to use.

Yet they maintain a payroll ($85.5 mil) that ranks in the middle third of all teams.

They aren’t afraid to make big moves at the trade deadline and try in earnest to lock-up their young star players via fair (if not market rate) contract extensions.

IMHO, the Brewers are the model small-mid market organization and AFAIC, all things considered the best run organization in baseball.
