Bryan Stow continues to improve

Giants Fan Attacked AP

The latest Bryan Stow update:

Relatives of the San Francisco Giants fan nearly beaten to death outside Dodger Stadium says he went outside for the first time in nearly six months as he shows more signs of improvement.

He’s reportedly making jokes and talking about friends and family and stuff too.

Any time you’re looking for an update, be sure to check out his family’s website.

Excellent. Soon as he’s home again, then he’ll be out of the woods. I won’t say he’s been lucky, but he is fortunate to still be alive all things considered. Next step; can he pick those 2 assholes out of a lineup?

I’d love to see those two rot behind bars forever, but for Bryan Stow’s sake, I hope he’s amnestic of the event and remains so.

    That’s GREAT news.

    Good luck, Mr. Stow.

I wouldn’t quite say that he’s making jokes and talking with his friends and family. It makes him sound like he’s further along in recovery than he is (that is to say, it makes it sound like he’s conversational, when it’s more along the lines that he’s capable of generating some speech, but a lot of his conversation is parroting as well). But he is definitely much more able to communicate than he has been, which is just awesome, and really heartening to read.

In any case, it’s really great that he’s continuing to make progress. You can never tell when someone with a TBI is going to plateau, and the fact that he hasn’t yet is so great. Thank you for continuing to make posts about this.

I really liked this last paragraph from their most recent update:

“We got the OK to take Bryan outside for the first time in almost 6 months. He was moved to a cardiac chair and we went out to a secluded patio. Bonnie asked Bryan how it felt to be outside. Bryan, sitting in the sun, with his eyes closed said, “It’s magical.””
