Chipper Jones diagnosed with bone bruise in knee, will play

Chipper Jones

Finally, some good news for the Braves. Sort of.

Chipper Jones has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee after undergoing an MRI exam today and as expected plans to play through the injury for the final two games of the season.

Jones made it pretty clear that he was willing to play through just about anything short of a broken leg and last night he doubled and homered despite saying afterward that he probably shouldn’t have even been in the lineup.

For all the wreckage around him, Jones has hit .294 with four homers, seven doubles, and an .872 OPS in 24 games this month.

This guy…… If he was on the Phills, he’d be my hero.

Can anyone make Gonzalez act more like Chipper? I can’t stand THAT GUY. Always barking……..

Chipper if so f@cking awesome. I dare say he’s been healthier this season than the last two…barely. Still the sweetest swing in baseball, from both sides of the plate.

Yeah…. He does know how to hit. I see him continuing his career in baseball after he calls it quits.

You know, Venezuelan ballplayers… seem to fall into two distinct camps, likable or intolerable. there doesn’t seem to be a middle ground…

    He will play forever :)
