They have to buy him out. As much as he is probably beloved in Cleveland the franchise cannot tie up $8.5 mil to a player who hasn't been productive in a good three years. I don't know what kind of offers he may receive on the open market but he might want to stay in Cleveland at a reduced salary.

Gotta let him go, there are much lower salary to injury ratios out there. Maybe he'll resign for a discount being that they've paid him millions for nothing but a "mug shot" the last few years.

I sorry for Grady's injuries, but he was never much of a clutch player, and started going downhill 5 years ago.

Just another guy with a lot of talent that couldn't use it, and another guy that got great national pub from Peter Gammons because his GM (Mark Shapiro) was trading Gammons inside info on other teams.

The way the game is played.

And to think I heard Mark Shapiro on Jim Rome in 2007 saying Sizemore was one of the players of this generation. Didn't know that players of a generation peaked hitting .290.

2005 - .289	.348 .484
2006 - .290	.375 .533
2007 - .277	.390 .462
2008 - .268	.374 .502
2009 - .248	.343 .445
2010 - .211	.271 .289
2011 - ..224	.285 .422
