Things are looking up for the Red Sox.  Dustin Pedroia hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth to put Boston back on top in Baltimore, while Mark Teixeira added a solo shot to go along with his grand slam as the Yankees upped their lead to 6-0 over the Rays.

Pedroia’s homer made it a 3-2 game.  David Ortiz followed with a single that knocked Orioles starter Alfredo Simon out of the game.  Troy Patton has taken over.

Jon Lester, working on three days’ rest, has thrown 57 pitches through four innings.  Outside of J.J. Hardy‘s two-run homer, he’s been strong, striking out four and walking one.
