"And how many game did each play for their respective teams?"

Isn't that part of the argument?? The Phillies made the better call trading for Pence than going for Beltran. Injuries factor into that just as much as the stats do and proves the Phillies made the better pick.

Craig himself was all high and mighty about how Beltran was the better pickup of the two players, and all that got the Giants was..nothing.. they got a guy who was injured and did nothing to help improve the team down the stretch while also having the trouble of having to decide if it's worth resigning him. Pence has missed only a couple games since coming to Philly, put up good numbers and they dont have to worry about losing him after this season.. Phillyfan was probably making his comment directed at Craig because he thought he knew what he was saying when he made a bold prediction of Beltran being the better player.

The Giant's aren't going to sign Beltran. He hated it in San Francisco. He wants to go back to the East Coast. Look for the Braves or Nationals to get him.
I'll be amazed if the Giants sign Beltran. Their payroll math suggests they do have the room to do it, with only $ 73M in obligations for 2012. But they have a lot of roster spots to fill with about $ 45M in payroll to do it, plus arbitration on the Panda. Beltran's salary was $19M last year.

Beltran turned in a .910 OPS in 142 games in 2011, his first year over 100 games since 2008. Plus he'll turn 35 next year.

Need any more red flags?

Sandoval did stop eating...for a while. Bochy stated a couple weeks ago that Pablo has gained his weight back and when I saw a recent game I would have a gard time arguing that. He looks heavier than ever. I just don't like Beltran. He obviously has great talent but there's something about him. He just comes off as a human raincloud. let the giants sign him.

I expect similar changes from Aubrey.
