I missed the games today. Did ex-Blue Jay, Michael Young, do anything of significance? I wonder if we see an all-ex-Jay infield tomorrow for the D-Backs.

Nice idea, but Mike has some kind of ridiculous contract that runs through the end of time. Better idea to try first: a strong GM who’s willing to take his little pet projects (Mathis, Willits, Quinlan, et al) away from him so he can’t keep putting them in the lineup.

I was wondering if someone else would feel that they need a change at the helm. He seems to have done all he could, so maybe some new blood would help. Hell the Yankees got rid of Joe Torre and Sciosca couldn’t hold a candle to Torre.

AA might have been a bit winded after hoisting Wells and his enormous contract out of town. He can be forgiven for not getting Heath Bell for Napoli.

Mike Napoli for Frank Francisco, a rare negative value trade for AA. The Jays catching situation was set so AA may have lost some trade leverage there, but still maybe could have gotten a better deal than a one year rental of a mediocre closer. Of course, this minor blip is overshadowed by the awesomeness of the trade that brought them Napoli in the first place.

It may honestly be time to move on from Mike Sciosca as well. The bullpen may have been full of overpriced busts the past few years, but Mike hasn’t helped the situation with poor bullpen management. You can also bet that he had a large say in the Napoli/Wells trade, and his infatuation with the garbage player that is Jeff Mathis is baffling. I like Mike but it may just be time to move on, best for both sides.

Vernon only hits when I don’t want him to. If he’d played any good at all, Angles would have made the post season and Tiffany would have just been happier and happier…Wells hates happiness…

For some reason, Wells hits well in Toronto. In previous seasons, he also liked to hit in his home town of Arlington.
