Question for the Yankees fans: Does Swisher take crap in NY for his poor post season play?

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:33 PM

Hey ya Yank Muppet, you gonna be here for the game or do you have more of a life than me this evening?

      • drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:40 PM

The future Mrs.MonkeyArmy works 7 on 7 off from 8pm-8am and this happens to be her work week, so this week I only have baseball and my dog, Gatsby to keep me company.

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:42 PM

Gatsby, eh? Great name for a dog. He a Dane? That would be the last word in pfunny.

        Peralta lookin’ good there…

      • drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:43 PM

No, he is half yellow lab, half boxer.

      • drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:02 PM

Ok, who is giving thumbs down for the breed of my dog?

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:08 PM

I have a Border Collie. Maybe it was her?

      • drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:10 PM

My mom had a border collie. Damn thing yelped constantly.

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:11 PM

Bella is quiet as mouse. Chewing a cow hoof right now. Holding it in her pawsies and working away, dainty as anything.

  2. yankeesgameday - Oct 4, 2011 at 7:22 PM

No. Swisher is a caretaker right fielder where not a lot is expected.

    • presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:28 PM

It seems like at this point he is as much mascot as RF. A good clubhouse guy. Like Johnny Damon, but without the offense.

  3. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:44 PM

AJ to the mound. All of New York holds their collective breath….

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:45 PM

Prediction; Russel Nathan Jeanson Coltrane Martin Jr. earns his dough tonight…

  4. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:46 PM

    Lead off walk…

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:47 PM

      AJ looks like AJ.

  5. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:48 PM

Why bunt there? Make him throw strikes.

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:48 PM

I friggin hate bunting…just giving in and giving away an out

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:49 PM

gettin’ in AJ’s head; run early & often

  6. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:50 PM

That is amazing…Young hadn’t hit an opposite HR in 2 years and has 2 in this series.

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:52 PM

Post season is crazy that way. Speaking of Young, Wanna see AJ settle down and turn into Cy Young? Post season craziness I tell you…

      • drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:54 PM

Ben Francisco on Philadelphia post game show acting like this is something that he does all the time. Very nonchalant and cool about it.

  7. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:51 PM

Intentional walk in the first winning? Wow.

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:54 PM

Jeez. AJ thinks he’s playing basketball…

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:55 PM

Unintentional walk now. Bases loaded. Maybe not Cy Young tonight. Getting to feel a bit sorry for AJ…

    • presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:00 PM

Probably better than giving him something over the middle of the plate at that point in the count.

  8. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:55 PM

Pitching visit already. I said last night that I thought AJ would pitch well tonight. I’m sorry Yankee fans, it looks like I might have been completely wrong. HUGE at bat here.

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:56 PM

I said the same about AJ. Looks like we can be wrong together.

  9. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:56 PM

    Bullpen up already.

  10. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:57 PM

Wow. That would have ended AJ’s night.

  11. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 8:57 PM

    GRANDY! Like a stud…

    • presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:01 PM

MVP! MVP! Haha just joshin ya.

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:04 PM

He’d be a legit MVP, no conversation. Been great all year and now looks like he intends to save AJ from himself.

      • presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:10 PM

I think he would be too, but I know the consensus around these parts gives the award to a player from colder climes. And I admit, like last year’s AL Cy Young, I’d like to see the voters move beyond just RBI and runs scored, even if Granderson’s numbers in those categories are awesome.

  12. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:01 PM

BABip-py game so far for Porcello

  13. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:07 PM

AJ settles in. C’mon boy, keep doing it like that, I hate being wrong…

  14. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:09 PM

Looks as though AJ might have settled down a bit.

  15. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:12 PM

    Grumpy just finds a way…

  16. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:14 PM

Russel Nathan Jeanson Coltrane Martin Jr.! like a stud…

  17. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:15 PM

    Nearly had Posada TOOTBLAN there.

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:16 PM

      More bunting, yeesh

  18. lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:16 PM

Where the hell is the live chat?

    • drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:17 PM

I know. It’s nonsense. This just isn’t the same.

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:17 PM

Stuck with us in this format Luke. At least all your comments get in…

  19. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:19 PM

    Captain Jeter comes through.

  20. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:19 PM

There’s those leadership qualities & Russel Nathan Jeanson Coltrane Martin Jr. safe at home!

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:20 PM

Slid around the catcher, didn’t try to truck him. Everybody walks away intact and Russel Nathan Jeanson Coltrane Martin Jr. gets to be safe. That’s how you do THAT.

      • lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:27 PM

If I’m giving my son 3 middle names, I’m at least making a sweet acronym out of it…RNJCM Jr? Weak.

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:30 PM

“Coltrane”? How many Coltrane’s you know? None, I bet. That’s a sweet handle…

  21. lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:20 PM

TRUE…and last night I definitely made a “Valverde’s about to blow it like a load on A-Rod’s mom’s back” comment that got edited out!

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:22 PM

Jeez Luke, the injustice…*eye roll & backs carefully away*

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:25 PM

Ovechkin commercial. I was looking forward to Drew Barrymore some more. Can’t get me enough Drew…

      • lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:28 PM

What too far? We’re all adults here.

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:33 PM

If you have to ask if it was too far….

  22. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:25 PM

    Big inning for AJ.

  23. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:26 PM

Yankee Killer up. Some emphatic strike calling, eh?

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:29 PM

      Weren’t some of those strikes? C’mon man…ah that’s better…

  24. lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:30 PM

    SO anyone else drinking bourbon?

    • drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:33 PM

Well, I haven’t had a drink or a drug in 10 years but I use to drink tons of bourbon. Only thing I drank. I had about 40 empty bottles of different bourbons on my frig at one point.

      • lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:36 PM

Why did you keep empty bottles of bourbon in your fridge?

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:39 PM

On the fridge there Luke. I keep dog hair & dust on top of mine.

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:35 PM

Beer. Big Rock Canvas Back Ale alternating with Granville Island Maple Lager. Cheers!

  25. drmonkeyarmy - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:31 PM

What, they try to get AJ through 6 then go to the bullpen?

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:37 PM

Yeah, probably I bet. More importantly how long will Porcello last? He keeps plunking Yankees there’s gonna be a brawl.

    • lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:38 PM

I’m pretty sure they’ll yank him earlier in the 6th if he looks shaky…or leave him in longer if he keeps up the no-hit bid (just sayin’).

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 9:40 PM

Yeah. He’s settled, leave him, most likely. If you’re Girardi, what do you do? AJ working on a no-hitter, must win game, after the 6th…do you risk it?
