Coke bagels them in the 7th. Tigers bet start gettin’ it on PDQ. A 5th game is back at the swimming pool that is Yankee Stadium.

Easy man. No need to turn this into a Phillys thread. They had their live blog.

    • presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:48 PM

      ya sista already did

      OHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Just kidding. I live in South(west) Jersey and am so sick of hearing about the Phightins. Just typing that makes me nauseous.

Russel Nathan Jeanson Coltrane Martin Jr. must be relieved after jittering around for Aj all night. Soriano can actually hit the glove with the ball.

    • churchoftheperpetuallyoutraged - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:50 PM

92mph and hitting the corners, who is this guy and what has he done to Rafael Soriano?

  6. jimbo1949 - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:51 PM

Betemit with the hat trick, and 1 2 3 again.

    now, let’s get some runs

  7. lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:52 PM

    A-ROD GOT A HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:53 PM

      now Tex gets a hit

      • jimbo1949 - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:57 PM

        and Swish loads ‘em up

  10. presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:54 PM

Quick reference to the post earlier about the Joe Pos piece: if the Tigers lose this series, is the narrative that Detroit just became a bit more downtrodden? If sports success lifts up an ailing city, does a postseason elimination throw more dirt on it?

Just pointing out this city-morale story only goes one way.

Like when the Yankees lost to Arizona in 2001, come to think of it.

  11. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:54 PM

Tex from the right side > than Tex from the left side? Who knew?

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:57 PM

Swish from the right side > than Swish from the left side? Who knew? Was 0 for 28 with RISP. Now 1 for 29. History.

    • lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:58 PM

Just about…anyone that pays attention to Tex? He’s a natural right handed hitter.

  12. lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:56 PM

I know I’m getting ahead, but binder update: Betemit is 2 for 2 lifetime against David Robertson…Miggy 1/2, V-Mart and Peralta 2/5 (none with HRs). Nothing else notable, and nobody with more than 5 ABs against him so take it for what it’s worth (not much of anything, probably).

  13. presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:57 PM

Have a Coke and a smile, boys.

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:58 PM

Al Albuquerque! 1st time I get to see this guy, woooo!

    • presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:00 PM

Am I the only one who thinks Al Albuquerque sounds like he should be an associate of Saul Goodman’s on Breaking Bad?

      • presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:02 PM

and it’s a trip to the Balkins (sic) for Al, poor guy

    • jimbo1949 - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:00 PM

Don’t miss the left at Albuquerque, Bugs.

  14. lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 10:59 PM

THAT YARD WITH ALL THE LEAVES IN IT DIDN’T EVEN HAVE A TREE IN IT!!!!! Explain that, State Farm (or whoever that was).

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:01 PM

Albuquerque can bring it. 97 mph when he can get his pitching motion sorted out…

  17. lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:03 PM

Another (Leyland) binder update…Magglio is 7 for 14 against Mariano, chances are we’ll see him in the 9th pinch hitting for Don Kelly.

  18. jimbo1949 - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:04 PM

    Jesus! Montero

  19. cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:04 PM

Tigers to the pen again. So long Al Abuquerque, t’was a trip…

  21. presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:05 PM

Wow, Smoltzy says breathing and gripping the ball are different in the postseason. Insightful.

    • lukeslice - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:11 PM

      That’s some shaggin’ good commentary.

  22. presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:06 PM

Who is the Detroit coach with the mustache they keep showing in the foreground, on the left, chewing gum? Real tan complexion.

    • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:08 PM

The Hines Ward Lookalike? Raphael Belliard I think..

      • presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:10 PM

Thank you, good sir. That is a great name.

      • presidentmiraflores - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:11 PM

But can he dance a samba and put a block on Ed Reed?

      • cur68 - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:14 PM

Played a great middle infield back in the day. Couldn’t hit for sh*t tho. Ed Reed would eat him alive and spit out the bones.

  23. jimbo1949 - Oct 4, 2011 at 11:08 PM

Russell Nathan Jeanson Coltrane Martin, Jr. to load ‘em up again

    see you later Albuquerque.
