put montero behind the play and pay prince fielder 17 million a year to be a full time dh. He can spell Tex at first from time to time.

Until they get their pitching settled they still need as much offense as possible and they don’t gave a dedicated DH.

Martin as C, Montero as DH/Backup catcher. I think they need to give The Saviour every opportunity to succeed as a catcher in the bigs. If he can be decent but unspectacular behind the plate (think Napoli/Posada) with his bat, that would be a huge boost for the team.

Sure his numbers weren’t amazing, but he was coming off a serious injury and changing leagues, that’s a pretty big deal, esp. for a C. So the likelihood is he’ll get better, and the Yanx need stability behind the plate because who knows what’s going to happen 60 feet away from it? That’s where all their questions lie.
