That “Yankees lack killer instinct” stuff? Eh, not so much.

Killer whale

That Bob Klapisch “the Yankees lack killer instinct” article from this morning? The one which he cited the Yankees’¬†abysmal record in 2011 when trailing after seven or eight innings as evidence for said lack of killer instinct?

Yeah, IIATMS pretty much debunks that.

Quick: does anyone know if the Yankees ate chicken and biscuits in the clubhouse? Because that, my friends, is the stuff of real late season failure.

Nope, no chicken and biscuits. Just popcorn while staring at Minotaur murals.

Bah. Not only did they eat chicken and biscuits, but they strangled the chickens with their own hands. The biscuits were easier: you just take them by the tail and whack them against the edge of the buffet table, the way you’d stun a mouse before throwing it to your ball python.

    Thanks, Craig. Much appreciated.

They had the best record in the AL but lacked killer instinct. Yesh that makes sense in “.. I can’t think about anything for my editor so let just pull something out of my arse..” sort of way.

I see a Pulitzer coming someboddies way.

The last Pulitzer that remotely interested me was the one they gave Thomas Pynchon for Gravity’s Raibow in 1974 – sort of.

Klapisch most follow the adage: never let the facts spoil a good story.

Or in his case, a mediocre-at-best column.

    1. Write something negative about the Yankees after something bad happens
    2. Wait for the website hits to roll in
    3. Exchange ‘Attaboys’ with co-workers

Hmmmm, the article was written for self service shock & awe, eh? Wouldnta guessed….

Yanx need some killer instinct? Hey kids — new movement, over here!!! #OYS (Occupy Yankee Stadium). March starts after brunch Saturday.

Well the Yankees did have 15 “walk off” wins during the 2009 season, plus 2 more in the post season. Don’t know if they were trailing in the 7th or not.

Not quite the MLB record however. That’s held by the ’43 Yankees, who also won the WS.

Not very many “walk off” wins this past season, but their 97 win total was good enough to lead the AL.

So “Old Media” sucks and now we can prove it. Shocking,
