everybody loves ‘da Meathook’ but is there any team who really needs him that badly right now? let’s see what he weighs next spring.

He’s Mik Francesa’s kind of ballplayer (Nick Johnson, Prince Fielder, Teixiera are among those he seems to admire.)

Dmitri has already had a comeback, with the 2007 Nats. He hit .320 and played in the All-Star Game. Then Jim Bowden signed him to a 2-year deal, but Dmitri didn’t make it past 2008.

The scoreboard at RFK would list him at 286 pounds, and we would laugh. But as a diabetic, weight has long been a serious, even life-threatening, problem for him. It would be great if Dmitri has finally gotten his weight under some control and could show that he can still hit.

he was on a “this week in baseball” thing this season, and can’t remember if he said he was trying to make a come back there but i had heard he was going to make a go at it for 2012. he has a lot of baseball cards in his collection. he played in the hall of fame game this year and looked in pretty good shape for that.

I had a dream…a nightmare really…that Ryan Howard looked exactly like the above picture after 6 months of sitting around playing video games, eating chicken and drinking beer with the Red Sox starters, laughing about how “geeky” Doc, Lee, Hamels, and Oswalt are, while rehabbing his Achilles Heel and cashing the first of his million dollar a week paychecks. Then I woke up and killed myself over and over.
