Earlier today the Rangers announced that Colby Lewis, not Derek Holland, will start Game 2 of the World Series and now the Cardinals have revealed that he’ll be matched up against Jaime Garcia.

Garcia started Game 3 of the NLDS and Game 1 of the NLCS, and the Cardinals prefer to pitch the 25-year-old left-hander at home whenever possible.

He’s allowed 10 runs in 15.2 innings this postseason, making it out of the fifth inning in just one of his three starts, but manager Tony La Russa gave Garcia a pretty quick hook in his last outing.

No word yet on who St. Louis will turn to after Chris Carpenter and Garcia in the rotation, but it figures to be Kyle Lohse and Edwin Jackson in some order.
