Each has a manager that seems to want to call the shots. Each has an owner with a history of hands-on management (though that’s about where the similarities between Peter Angelos and Arte Moreno end). The Angels also have several large contracts, including that abomination of a Vernon Wells contract. The Orioles can be molded to what the new GM wants (within the confines of Angelos and possibly Showalter), while the Angels are essentially a completed team.

I don’t know if that is enough to draw a GM candidate that has other offers, but it is something to think about.
