If he would rather pitch in Baltimore instead of Texas, who is a World Series team, then he obviously doesn't like the pressure. With that being the case why would the Rangers want him back in 2012. Sayonara Koji.

Its not that hard to imagine since he got left off the World Series roster. The Rangers kept 7 RPs and he didn't make it.

I don't think anyone in Texas thinks Uehara is awful; he's just had an awful postseason. I have no doubt he'll come around and be a great reliever next year. But the World Series is the World Series, and they made the right call to not put him on the roster, because, for whatever reason, he just doesn't have the right stuff right now. Doesn't mean he's a bad pitcher, just means that now is not his time, and the World Series is not the venue to let him work his way out of his struggles. And baseball is what it is, players get traded and moved around all the time, so he may as well deal with that reality.

It's hard to imagine you have 6 guys who are better otherwise why trade for him in the first place? Small sample size is a difficult way to judge a relief pitcher who was successful with the Orioles, and statistically was also successful in Texas, except for the homers. 19 innings and 24/3? That's pretty good. A lot of teams would sign him if the Orioles can't step up due to salary restrictions....Nationals, Mets, Cubs, Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees, Rockies, Marlins....the list is pretty good. But if Baltimore is where his heart is, can't argue with that...it's a great area to live in and play.

As a Giants fan, I would take him...hard to hit homers at AT&T!
