Patience. This isn’t a big problem. Henry & Lucchino are just trying to hold up the Cubs, for spite if nothing else. Bud can get them to back off and negotiate something reasonable. Just as important, Bud can help keep this out of the media until something is decided.

To balance it out send Crawford to the Cubs so Theo will have to eat his own dog food. I think Zambrano will fit in well with the overpaid fried chicken eating, beer drinking starting pitching staff. Besides, he can DH on the days he doesn’t pitch.

Agree. Bad optics. Both teams should be focused on a swift deal with reasonable expectations, not acting like a divorced couple. Selig’s involvement should come at a price.

If the Red Sox think Theo is so valuable to them they should have either a) never let him interview with the Cubs or b) given him the promotion he’s been seeking. This whole situation underscores who messed up things are at the top of that organization. These guys are ridiculous.

You know what. Every fan is sick of hearing about this as well. If I were Selig, and the Red Sox and Cubs can’t work out an agreement, I would take both of their 1st round draft picks away as punishment for the commissioner’s involvement. If they force his hand, there should be consequences.

Both of these clubs are having a pissing match about compensation for Epstein. It’s not professional. It’s mickey mouse crap.
