Translation and/or explanation please. Someone…anyone…please advise as to what this guy is trying to say. The only thing I understand is the Union comment. And even that is out their. Down 20% over the last 5 years? Try 40%. Regardless, everything else seems to be a riddle of some sort.

I agree Chip. I know one thing (aside from 2010)…as a Cardinals fan every time this get stepped in the box he worried the hell out of me. I can also somewhat understand why he would decline the option (if he truly is wanting a multiyear contract). At 33…he better be getting that deal now as opposed to waiting another year. The fact that it’s a very weak market for 3rd Baseman should only help him.

Why would the Tigers consider Ramirez? They already have the offensive powerhouse that is Brandon Inge at 3B. Once he worked out his problems in AAA, Inge hit something like .324 on cloudy Tuesday nights against brown-eyed left handers that don’t throw over 87 MPH whose mothers smoke unfiltered Marlboro’s.

Ramirez should have at least waited until the Cubs said no. I mean the extra $2 million is well an extra $2 million. And if the Cubs wanted to pay him $16 million that is better than he will do on the market for a single year. But, I guess, it just shows that it worth big bucks to get out a Cub uniform. Ramirez should follow Broglio’s lead and burn his Cub uniform as he leaves.

Last year was a fluke? Ridiculous. If you look at his career numbers, I’m pretty sure the fluke actually happened in 2010.

He should have taken the money. He’s on the downside of his career and there’s no doubt in my mind that last year was a fluke. The only way he hits 300 again is in the minor leagues. Theo must be ecstatic at not having to Ramirez make this decision for him.
