Eh, problem is that Gardner is the only OF whose bat you’d even consider platooning, and his defense makes him way too valuable to not play 150 games. With Montero ready to assume an everyday role, Jones would be underutilized on the Yanks. I’d actually love to see him plug in the left-field, lefty-thumping role Atlanta needs filled, bringing his career full-circle.

I chuckled a little when I read Matthew say Pudges slash line wouldn’t get him a starting gig. With Damon and Kotch free agents that likely won’t be back, Pudge would currently bat 6th for us. Ha. We need some upgrades. I was hoping for Andruw last offseason. Maybe this season. Guyer, Canzler, and Andruw sharing LF, DH roles sounds very doable, and on the cheap. Andruw can’t hit a lefty, Canzler can’t hit a righty. It’s a match!!!

I think it’s a safe bet that the Orioles’ “big” off-season acquisition(s) will be somewhere in that group of players.

The Yanks can bring him back on the cheap. That McCourt guy will be coughing up deferred compensation for the Andruw Jones gaffe for a while longer.

Agreed, but then again he was like, what 12 years old in that ’96 world series? Would love to see the Yanks bring him back and let him play more often against LH.

I can’t believe Andruw Jones is only 34. It was really a lot of fun to watch him in center with Atlanta.
