Boy, I just got through blasting Lew Wolff over on the A’s post and compared him to a lightweight version of Loria. But then there’s Angelos, the man who invented profiting from an empty stadium.

Bud-lite won’t do anything about Angelos. He likes Angelos. Angelos is a friend of his. Angelos helped usher in this era of labor peace by talking sense to the other owners. Or so goeth the lesson.

Amazing though, how Bud’s friends run such bad teams out on the field so consistently.

Yesterday he met with Angelos for the first time (Good ol Pete couldn’t be bothered to show up the first time he was interviewed). So after meeting him LaCava clearly realized that he would have no chance at success in this orginization and that he would rather risk never being seriously considered for any other GM job than work here. I get that as a Jays fan you think that being the number 2 in Toronto is better than being number 1 elsewhere, but it isn’t supposed to work that way. For me this is as bad as the mothers day massacre and the 30-3 atrocity, this orginization is close to irreparable.

Obviously, LaCava realized that working for Angelos would not be very enjoyable for him. He is better off being # 2 with the Jays than # 1 in Baltimore. Rosenthal has always had some ties with the Jays through Rogers Sportsnet, so I believe his story.
