I am a cautiously optimistic Dodger fan. The cancer that is the McCourt family ownership will not be eradicated quickly or easily.

I just hope Bud $elig approves an ownership that is focused on producing a solid, winning baseball team.

It is if you run it right. Scrooge McLoria stuffed his pockets with luxury tax money and television money, even without fannies in the stands. Sure, the fans – all fifteen of us – got royally screwed, but this is about ownership, right? McCourt just lived ridiculously beyond his means – and then his squeeze squoze him but good. Lethal combination there.

Couldn’t agree more. Take the emotions of owning an MLB franchise out of the equation (I mean, really, who wouldn’t want to own one?). Purely from a business perspective, who would want to spend that kind of money to own this kind of “asset”? Look at the expense side of the ledger, then compare it to the revenues. It’s not that attractive a business proposition.

The saddest part of this entire affair is that Selig comes off like the White Knight coming in to save the Dodgers. It was Selig and his cronies that approved this clown in the first place. What kind of due diligence did they do? He lost out on the Red Sox and they then approved him for The Dodgers. So ask yourself who is in line to purchase this team with all its problems? What idiot would want to purchase this team, tackle all those problems and lastly where does the funding come from?
