Check out the Coiffure on Mozeliak, Amaro, Epstein, Sabean, and Williams….obviously a thick head of hair is key to competent GMship.

You most certainly can play Devil’s Advocate. But if I have to explain it then any person who has any doubts about my comment has absolutely no knowledge of his track record compared to Epstein’s. That’s putting aside that the Yankees are a much more complicated and dare I say demanding organization on a day to day basis than the Cubs.

There are lots of options available via FA or even potential trade opportunities if the Yankees are willing to part with something to get something.
For Example: Assuming Darvish if posted, he’s certainly a possibility at the right price. And based on every single piece of information available about him including scouting reports he is the real deal. Unlike either Dice K or Igawa. Then there is middle to back of the rotation guys that are currently available like: Buehrle, Edwin Jackson, Bruce Chen, Oswalt and Rich Harden (if the Yankees want to take a chance). Trade possibilities who knows but for the right player or mix of playerss I would think John Danks and maybe even Gio Gonzalez (although it’s probably less likely than Danks but you never know. The Yankees have a lot of young cost controlled rookies or prospects that in some cases are ML ready or will be in the next year or so. I wouldn’t underestimate the value of those players to some small market or cost conscious team. Heck you never know whats out there unless you try.

I hope the Yankees did right by him. Regardless of titles (President of Baseball Operations, GM, etc…) Cashman deserves to be paid on par with Epstein on a yearly basis. Right now that looks like $4M per.
