Bringing Garcia back is a real gamble. He got by on his junk pitches well enough. But it would be really risky expecting him to put up those numbers two years in a row.

As for Colon, I don't see him coming back, at least not as a starter. He might land somewhere as a reliever. Looking at how he ran out of gas in the second half I doubt he would be in any GM's rotation plans.

Yes, uyf, it certainly can't hurt to have Freddy AND Bart around for 2012. In case AJ gets run over by a bus or some other unfortunate accident occurs.

I like the idea of "exploring" signing Freddy for 1 more year. But he's not going to sign for mostly an incentive laden contract. And considering in 2011 he earned approximately $5.5M (with the incentives) he's probably looking at a $6M contract guaranteed minimum. He can most certainly get that in FA and possibly even 2 years for about $12M or at the very least a 1 year with a vesting option for the 2nd year.

My guess is the Yankees offer Garcia arbitration and he turns it down. The Yankees get a sandwich pick and move on from Freddy maybe even to Colon. Who knows.
