I think it’s a safe bet he’ll be in the lineup, but with all of the speculation about Domonic going back to Triple-A, there’s room for Mayberry and a free agent LF/1B.

There’s still a lot of pride in Posada and I can envision him coming back and playing one more season just to prove something to the doubters out there; but I would like to see him retire as a Yankee and then get on with his life. If one remembers Bernie Williams didn’t go away quietly either and as of last year he hadn’t filed his retirement papers.

I’m surprised we haven’t heard anything from Jorge yet. I always assumed he would rather retire a Yankee than play one or two throwaway years with another team, likely in some sort of platoon. I’m sure he’s holed up somewhere with his family enjoying the offseason and making sure he’s 100% in whatever he does. I think he’lll retire.
