I don’t think NFL owners are allowed to own franchises in other sports. I’d love to see a Kevin Plank / Cal Ripken team-up, Maryland would go nuts.

Baltimore got the auction once already: when Eli Jacobs went bankrupt in 1992. That’s how Angelos bought the club, outbidding Bill DeWitt (who bought the Cardinals instead).

Everyone thought the Orioles were rescued from an apathetic owner in Jacobs. And for a couple years, we were right…

What’s worse is that even if Angelos sells the team, he’ll still own the rights to MASN. God knows where that money is going right now.

My beloved O’s have gone from the best team in baseball to the worst. Awesome.

Getting squeezed between Angelos and Showalter was the first thing that occurred to me when I say LaCava turned down the job. Who wants to be fired when the moves Buck pushes you into and the subset of moves you want to make that Angelos approves don’t work out? all while working around FO people you didn’t hire…just a horrible job situation.
