When Freese had two strikes in the ninth inning of game 6 the manager at the publishing house gave the print signal. They stopped the presses when he hit the triple.

Then after Hamilton’s home run they got the presses ready again. When Feldman had two strikes on Berkmann the manager gave the go sign again. What were the odds?

The manager is out of a job today.

This is the main reason I was for the NL & the Cards. This whole Tex-ass thing gets me riffed. The arrogance of the Dallas sports scene is beyond contempt. First they want us to believe that the Cowboys are “American’s Team”, now they wanted us to believe that they had the series all wrapped up, so they jump the gun and print out and distribute all kinds of fairy tale junk. They were not playing the Detroit Tigers for the series. they were playing the Cardinals, who have the second best record in W-S baseball. They did not have home field advantage, or they may have had a chance. Here’s to Nolan Ryan, who I hope NEVER WINS a W-S ring.

There are thousands of kids in poor countries with t-shirts and caps proclaiming the Rangers as WS champions. Some of them might have gotten the same shirts last year and probably think the Rangers are the greatest team this century.
