Good move. No one else out there and for $5mm if he’s in between last years numbers n the year before’s numbers we have a good deal.

Also if Reyes doesn’t resign, we have a lead off hitter (he was terrible last year leading off but he’s done it before)

Of course they could trade Pagan for Colby Rasmus. I’m guessing that if Mets throw in a dozen new bats with Pagan that Jays would make the deal.

So, exactly which orifice would you like Sandy Alderson to pull an all-star center fielder out of? A team with a bad farm system and a bad roster and broke ownership doesn’t really have a lot of places to turn.

Pagan, agreed, is not great but he’s as good as they’re likely to get this year.

Guy is a bum. No way in hell should they have done this. They needed to cut him loose & let some other team deal with his minor league ability & his never ending, nagging injuries such as diarrhea that keeps him out for a week. This guy is a joke & should have been moved before the 2011 season when his value was high. Now the Citi Faithful are forced to deal with this chump while arguably our best player goes somewhere else in the NL. So far Sandy Alderson & his penny pinching, moneyball strategy gets a big fat F in my book. Since when did the New York Mets organization become the KC Royals or the Pittsburg Pirates? Is is a joke. I’m already seriously considering giving up my season tickets if I’m stuck watching the likes of Pagan, Tejada, Duda, Gee & Thole. These guys wouldn’t make 90% of MLB rosters as back-ups, but yet they’re our starters, our “future” in one of the biggest markets in baseball.
