Perhaps a one year $3-4 million deal with a chance to make $8 or $9 million through incentives, but I can't see any team, high/low revenue offering this guy a big contract

I think you're making a mountain out of an ant hill. One interpretation is to read between the lines and say Sizemore will be willing to go back to Cleveland on a cheaper one year deal tahn $9MM that has a chance of netting him a better deal in the 2012 off-season. How likely is that? Not much. But Rosenthal says too little in two lines to accurately say for sure what the heck he's trying to convey.

In any case, what news items are out there that Sizemore will likely get a $9MM year deal? It looks more like Rosenthal's opinion than anything else. Everyone knows the Indians declined the option and the reasons why. Why is there expectation that a different team will bite for a comparatively high price?
