Rochester has been a Twins affiliate since 2003. Before that they were the Orioles affiliate since 1961. The point is, the mediocrity there is only associated with the Twins since 2003.

Rochester hasn’t won the IL since 1997. They last finished above .500 in 2008. They have been one of the worst teams in the league the last couple of years. Given the state of their farm system, the Wings are likely to be one of the worst teams in the IL again next year. At this point, it is hard to call Rochester a winning franchise.

Rochester has been in the bottom of the International League North Division for the last two years.

It should be interesting next year because not only are the Rochester Red Wings playing at Frontier Field, but the Triple-A Yankees will be playing 37 games at Frontier Field as well. It’s really exciting.

Rochester has won numerous championships in the last 80 years so isn’t this a step up for Quade if a winning franchise wants him?
